My name is David Johnson.
I lead design for some of the greatest brands in the world.
Brand Design Manager, Ziploc – SC Johnson
I recently joined SC Johnson as the end‑to‑end creative lead for the Ziploc brand and the broader Home Storage category. Day to day, I guide everything from packaging and communications to e‑commerce and new creative opportunities across the business.
Lead Designer, e‑Commerce & BE Studio – P&G Fabric Care
Before SCJ, I spent six years at Procter & Gamble, helping define how P&G’s fabric care brands show up in the digital world. My work spanned visual identity, e‑commerce presence, and the evolving intersection of design and consumer behavior online.
Independent Designer – Cincinnati
For seven years, I ran my own design practice in Cincinnati, partnering with a powerhouse list of clients: P&G, GE Aviation, PepsiCo (more than once), MillerCoors, Carl’s Jr., 3M, Perfetti, Sam’s Club, Nestlé, and Unilever (also more than once). It was a fast‑paced, creatively rich chapter.
LPK
Before that, I spent eight years at LPK, working primarily on P&G brands along with several others. It was a formative period where I honed my craft and left my mark on a wide range of design initiatives.
Independent Designer – Chicago
Earlier in my career, I spent three years designing independently in Chicago, collaborating with Unilever, PepsiCo, Kraft, and several other major brands.
Education
I earned my B.A. in Fine Art—focused on Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking—from South Carolina State University. Go Bulldogs.
Fun Facts
Outside of work, I’m into music, art, sci‑fi, comics, video games, and sports.
And for a bit of nostalgia: I even self‑published my own comics back in 1997. Creativity has always been part of my DNA.
